Part of the debt ceiling deal agreed upon by Congress and signed by the White House included a Super Committee. But let us not forget the committees that went before. The Bowles-Simpson and Gang of Six committees both came up with deals with compromise and shared sacrifice. Each time, the Tea Party held the entire budget process hostage ... killing the deals.
