Republicans walked out of talks to raise the debt ceiling. They are upset by Democrats who want tax breaks and loopholes for corporations and the wealthy to be a part of the deficit reduction discussion. Speaker John Boehner warned that any package with tax increases "cannot pass the House."
At the same time, the FDA hopes new graphic images on cigarette packages will deter smokers.
